There are just no limitations to famed Gulf Coast producer Heartbeatz. After working under the tutelage of multi-platinum producers KLC and Mannie Fresh and producing tracks for the likes of late great legend Pimp C, Rap-A-Lot artist Trae, Yo Gotti, Pastor Troy and Chopper and more, this Picayune, Miss. native is well on his way to becoming one of tomorrow's hottest musical talents.

Now with his brand spanking new label Heartbeatz Entertainment, Heartbeatz is set to pump new life into Hip Hop and R&B with mixtape Heart Attack dropping in August and aptly titled solo album Oh So Now He Raps? due in the Fall. On both releases, Heartbeatz raps as well as show off his singing abilities. There is just no stopping.

"By me being around platinum producers, I learned everything they learned. And I do stuff how they do it- turning up my bass, sampling different sounds, making your own sounds," Heartbeatz explains. "I got a sound that nobody got. You gotta perfect your craft."

Born as Otis Hinton in Portland, Oregon, Heartbeatz moved with family to the small Mississippi Gulf Coast town of Picayune when he was only 10 years old. Barely old enough to reach the pedals with his feet, the young musician had been playing organs in area churches since he was only six years old. It was actually through the church that afforded Heartbeatz the opportunity to delve into secular music.

"One church had a keyboard that could make eight-track beats, but you had to play the beat for four whole minutes," he remembers. "I ended up making a track and my cousin heard it and said 'I'm going to start a label and I want you to be my beat man and my Nate Dogg.'"

That cousin happened to be one-time Indiana Pacers player Jonathan Bender, who got traded to the team fresh out of high school and was back at home in Picayune during the off season.

"I didn't really believe him but the next week, he bought $10,000 worth of studio equipment," says Heart. "And he bought a house in New Orleans with just a studio in it… I just stayed in the studio all day and night for weeks straight. We slept in there."

It was 2004, and while living in the Crescent City, he learned techniques from ex-No Limit Records producer KLC and made invaluable industry connections. But within a year's time, however, Bender's interest in music faded. He disbanded the label, and Heartbeatz returned home to Picayune. Now relying solely on his own hustle, he charged $100 for beats and $15 per hour to record.

"As I kept going on with it, I started making more money," he says. "I quit my job at Wal-Mart to make music full time in 2004." More importantly, he marketed himself to the public.

"All I do to get recognized is get out and travel. I hit all the awards and conferences and I have product to pass out," he advises. "I might pass out 500 CDs and 10 people might buy beats from me. But that's 10 more clients that I never had before. If I don't do that, then I don't pay my bills…People feel like it's a fence around their hometown and they can't travel. But they can do it."

Heartbeatz’ production has a very melodic sound consisting of chords, keys, and some synthesized elements along with hard hitting bass lines. Heartbeatz has produced notable singles such as “What You Doin” (Rocko), “True Story” (Pimp C), and “I Ain’t Tellin” (B.G.) amongst others.

"I make inspirational music," says Heartbeatz. "I don't rap about killing because I ain't never did that. I make music to inspire."
